I create guitar songs in the same way I’d often write music with a band, work out a few chord patterns and melody, then jam it out with colleagues, with lyrics added soon after. With solo material, I instead build up extra layers of guitars, bass and often a keyboard. I often use delay effects, multi-tracked to create an ensemble of sound, with synthesised string and sequencing effects played on guitar as backing to lead parts.
